Rev. Dr. Joe MacDonald, a native Houstonian, is a graduate of Houston Baptist University, a former Texas high school choir director and church music director who has been serving as an elder in the New Mexico Annual Conference for the past 10 years. He began his full-time life in ministry as the Music Director at FUMC Deming. He traveled from Deming to Iliff Seminary in Denver weekly to earn his Master of Divinity to become an elder in the church. His first appointment was at FUMC Truth or Consequences followed by Rio Rancho UMC. Joe is attending Austin Presbyterian Seminary and will be completing his Doctorate of Ministry in 2019 with an emphasis in preaching and worship. He has been happily married to Cazandra for over 25 years and they have two sons, Julian (23) and Caeleb (13). Joe is an active blogger and columnist writing about issues of faith through his everyday life. Along with Cazandra, Joe is active in the bleeding disorder community, often writing, advocating and facilitating workshops around the country. One of Joe’s claims to fame is sharing a stage with Placido Domingo in Houston Grand Opera’s production of Aida. Joe worked professionally with the Houston Grand Opera and Theatre Under the Stars as a tenor. You will surely hear him singing in the halls of the church.
Joyce Ketcherside, Administrative Assistant, is a lifelong member of Hamlin Memorial UMC. She recently began working in the office and has been an invaluable asset to the church. She is happily married to Ricky, and they have three adult sons. Joyce enjoys being grandmother to eight boys and two girls. She also has three siblings, Lynn Mahaney, Peggy Gottesch and Boyd White who are all very active in the life of Hamlin Memorial as well as a brother, Joel White who lives in Levelland.
Roger Kemp, Youth Director is a 2017 graduate of Deming High School. He is a full-time student at Eastern New Mexico University, majoring in Music Education. Roger aspires to promote his love of music through his teaching of middle school through college while performing professionally on the trombone. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, playing basketball, hiking, watching movies, and reading
Brenna Jarman, Nursery Coordinator is a 2016 Farwell High School graduate. She is a full-time student at Eastern New Mexico University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. Brenna aspires to carry her love for children into the school system as a second grade teacher. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her brothers play basketball, and playing with her dogs.
